Volga-Dnepr Strengthens Presence in Russian Logistics Market
Volga-Dnepr Group is rapidly building upon its 3PL logistics division in Russia and the CIS, and has organized the delivery of about 190 tons of cargo shipments for Telekom-Zapad, a project engineering company.
Volga-Dnepr delivered a shipment of cable samples weighting 230 kg to Yakutsk in the Russian Far East, which is located 450 km south of the Arctic Circle. The bellyhold cargo capacity of a passenger aircraft was used. Also, transportation of further shipments was conducted via road and rail. Among other services provided by Volga-Dnepr includes: cargo warehousing, packing, and insurance services.
Volga-Dnepr’s logistics team has arranged deliveries for its customer over a total distance of 71,000 km.
“The customer was pleased with our service for the first shipment and returned to us, with a request for a delivery of a series of cable shipment for the Yakutsk Fuel and Energy Company. Around 190 tons of cables were carried via road and rail from Moscow to Kysyl-Syr, to Bolshaya Markha in the Yakutsk region. We also have recently arranged the trucking of a 5-ton outsized low-voltage switchboard to Yakutsk, from Minsk, Belarus. We are now seeing a growing amount of requests for our logistics services,” said, Georgiy Shklyanik, Head of Logistics at Volga-Dnepr Airlines.
The company’s logistics division was established in 2014 as part of the company’s ‘Cargo Supermarket’ strategy and service offering.
The logistics division responsible for providing in-house ground logistics support for Volga-Dnepr Airlines and AirBridgeCargo Airlines. Volga Dnepr’s logistics division also offers third party logistics services to outside organizations, using all modes of both ground, air transport, and air services contracted from other airlines.
Presently, Volga-Dnepr cooperates with over 120 subcontractors in Russia and the CIS, serving over 100 customers.
