Emirates SkyCargo Recognized As “Overall Carrier of the Year”

Emirates SkyCargo, the cargo division of Emirates, has received the “Overall Carrier of the Year” award at the Payload Asia Awards 2015, for the third time in a row.

Mr. Ravishankar Mirle, Emirates Vice President of Far East and Australasia Cargo, accepted the award on behalf of the company at a gala dinner at the Crowne Plaza Changi Airport, in Singapore. The ceremony took place alongside the 2015 Payload Asia Conference, an annual trade event for the air cargo industry.

“We are honored to have been recognized as ‘Overall Carrier of the Year’ once again. We would like to thank readers and many of our customers for selecting us,” said Nabil Sultan, Emirates Divisional Senior Vice President, and Cargo. “This achievement gives credit to the hard work of our teams stationed across our global network, and the value they bring to our customers each day.”

Emirates SkyCargo was shortlisted for the award by group of judges. Payload Asia readers were then invited to cast their vote for their favorite carrier. The core criteria for the award includes the carrier’s coverage and development strategy, operational performance, customer service, and product innovations, as well as market leadership, responsiveness, and flexibility.

Emirates SkyCargo is the largest air cargo carrier in the world. It possesses a young fleet of 240 aircraft, including 15 freighters. SkyCargo’s routes extend to 147 destinations in 79 countries on 6 continents, which provides Emirates SkyCargo with a broad global reach and connectivity. In its 2014-15 financial year, Emirates SkyCargo carried 2.4 million tonnes of cargo across its network, contributing $3.4 billion to the airline’s overall transport revenue.
