CEVA Lands Logistics Contract with BMI Healthcare
CEVA Logistics, a supply chain and management company, has gained a specialist healthcare logistics contract to provide distribution and warehousing in the UK to BMI Healthcare. BMI Healthcare runs more than 60 hospitals are health facilities throughout the UK. The company’s headquarters is located in London.
The three-year contract was acquired after a competitive tender against other specialist third-party logistics providers (3PLs). CEVA was chosen as the best business partner for Britain’s largest private healthcare provider as a result of the value it will add to the company’s internal supply chain.
Mr. Michael O’ Donoghue, Managing Director, UK, Ireland and Nordics, said, “CEVA’s operational framework for managing the BMI healthcare business was an important element of our value proposition for this new partnership. We believe our variety of services will enhance supply chain efficiency, provide operational flexibility, and improve IT integration for the company.”
The latest contract will include the warehousing of medical devices and consumables, hi-tech storage of pharmaceutical products at 2°C – 8°C, and distribution of those products across throughout the UK to BMI’s private hospitals and reverse logistics as needed.
CEVA has already applied its Zero Defect Start-Up (ZDS) implementation program on the BMI business to guarantee high quality service delivery. A range of service KPIs and targets will guarantee that CEVA’s commitments are realized. The KPIs will focus on areas such: goods inward and out, put away, inventory accuracy, order accuracy, on-time delivery, and cost performance.
