Hactl Wins Gold For Environmental Efforts at HKAEE

Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) have recently received the Transport and Logistics Gold Award, in the latest Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence (HKAEE). This is a step up from last year, the first year in which Hactl participated in the HKAEE awards, where the company won the Silver Award.

HKAEE awards organizations that have adopted green management policies, and have bench marked their commitments to best practices within their sectors. The awards are organised and presented by the Environmental Campaign Committee (ECC), following a thorough three-stage assessment process which includes site inspections and a final adjudication by a panel of judges. There are awards for each of 11 industrial sectors.

Hactl Chief Executive Mark Whitehead accepted the award trophy from Mr. Lam Chiu-ying, Chairman of the Environmental Campaign Committee. Mr. Whitehead commented,“Hactl’s eco-management program aims to contribute to sustainability for Hong Kong and the world. This is not part of our customer contract, nor any legal requirement; we simply believe that, as a responsible corporate, we should consider how we leave our planet for future generations. Profit can no longer be the sole measure of a company’s success. It is extremely gratifying to have our efforts recognized once again in this highly-respected awards scheme, and particularly pleasing to have achieved the ultimate accolade with the winning of the Gold Award. Hactl will continue its commitment to protecting and preserving the global environment, making its own contribution to the air cargo supply chain’s green credentials.”
