Etihad Cargo Hosts Italian Business Networking Event
Etihad Cargo and the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce recently hosted a networking event for 20 industrial powerhouses from Parma, Italy, who collectively represent 3.7% of the Italian GDP, along with 75 representatives from Emirati businesses. The events goal was to offer opportunities for key industrial players a chance to learn more about the UAE and Etihad Cargo.
Preceding the event was the recent signing by Etihad Global Cargo Management Company (Etihad GCMC) and Parma Airport on an exclusive agreement to develop cargo volumes at the airport. The project is being developed in conjunction with Etihad GCMC partner airline Alitalia, and as part of the agreement daily road feeder services will be operated to Milan’s Malpensa Airport.
David Kerr, Senior Vice President of Etihad Cargo, said: “Our partnership is more than one between aviation entities, but two countries. It was an honor to welcome the Italian delegates to Abu Dhabi and we are looking forward to creating new business opportunities by connecting local producers with global customers through our vast network of more than 250 destinations.”
Alberto Figna, Chairman of the Unione Industriali, said: “With the co-operation of Etihad GCMC, the strategic development plan for Parma Airport is already coming to life. We are really honored to have gained the interest of Etihad Airways, a key player in the world of aviation. I am proud of the agreement which will generate new business opportunities for Parma and neighboring territories.”
Federico Pizzarotti, Mayor of Parma, stated: “I am proud of what has been done by Etihad Airways and our airport in Parma, which will serve to boost trade between our countries.”
