Hactl Forklift and Pallet Building Contest Won by China Southern Cargo
Congratulations to the team from China Southern Cargo on winning the Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals (Hactl) International Forklift and Pallet Building Competition. The event, which is now eleven years old attracted competitors from across the globe.
For this year’s event, the competition courts were made more difficult with the layout being more complex and tighter, this arrangement placed additional stresses on the forklift drivers to safely maneuver obstacles, while attempting to successfully pick up cargo in the given order.
The overall champion was China Southern Cargo while Japan Airlines had to settle for the runners-up position. For the individual forklift contest, the places were reversed as Japan Airlines took the title leaving China Southern Cargo in second place. Japan Airlines also took the Forklift Driving Safety Award
Amy Lam, Finance Director and Chair lady of the Environmental, Health & Safety Committee of Hactl said: “This is our eleventh year of holding this competition. As always, we used it to foster professionalism and safety in the industry, but we also wanted to promote sustainability and corporate social responsibility. That is why we blended green themes with supporting our local artists and our champions. We care about all these things and have ambitious plans and targets for the future.”
