DHL Supply Chain to Build Distribution Center for Eaton Electrical

Earlier this week DHL Supply Chain broke ground in Rheinbach, Germany for the construction a new distribution center for one of their clients Eaton, a multinational power management company.

The new construction project is a creating highly automated storage facility of 35,000m2 and will begin operations in the first quarter of 2019.

CEO Germany & Alps for DHL Supply Chain Karsten Schwarz explains, “The construction start for the new warehouse in Rheinbach is another important step in our strategic partnership, in which DHL is building and managing three integrated, high-performance distribution centers for Eaton in Europe,”

“This investment reflects the trust and strategic partnership we have with Eaton, who have leveraged our logistics expertise for the past decade.”

This new facility in Germany was designed to provide extra benefit to their customers in the Western European regions helping them receive the highest quality service possible. For the next few years, DHL will continue to support Eaton from three distribution centers in Germany, the Czech Republic and the United Kingdom.

Due to the strategic location of the facility in Rhienbach, connections to all modes of transport is available, guaranteeing an efficient international supply chain which benefits from the proximity to the Duisburg/Venlo port of entry.

DHL Supply Chain working in conjunction with Eaton developed a concept for the facility that includes an entire warehouse consolidation from designing, planning and equipment to commissioning and standard operation. The facility is fitted out with state-of-the-art technology resulting in a high level of automation.
