Emirates SkyCargo adds Santiago in Chile to their South American Network
Emirates Airlines freight division, Emirates SkyCargo recently announced the addition of Santiago in Chile to their cargo destination network. This new service will commence on July 5th, 2018.
Emirates SkyCargo will be providing up to 15 tonnes of cargo capacity to their customers using their Boeing 777-200LR aircraft. Santiago will be the air cargo carriers’ sixth South American destination after Buenos Aires, Ciudad del Este, Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo and Viracopos.
With the launch of these new services, Emirates SkyCargo can now facilitate the exports of Chilean Salmon and other perishables to many destinations in their worldwide network. The South American country is the world’s second-largest producer of farmed salmon with an estimated value at over US$ 4.6 billion in exports of the popular fish for the year 2017.
The new service will boast some of the fastest flight connections for air cargo from Chile to East Asian destinations such as Shanghai, Middle East and Russia through Dubai. Along with the faster flight time Emirates SkyCargo offers a full scope of bespoke transportation solutions, Emirates Fresh ensures the freshness of Chilean salmon and fruits during transportation.
Dubai Airport houses Emirates SkyCargo’s state of the art cargo terminals replete with extensive cool chain facilities including dedicated temperature controlled storage areas and equipment such as thermal blankets and Cool Dollies to protect delicate cargo against thermal radiation.
Emirates SkyCargo in 2017 transported a total of 48,000 tonnes of cargo to and from South America resulting in a boost to local businesses by enabling them to connect with their customers across a worldwide network that includes over 155 cities throughout six continents.
