Kuehne + Nagel to Open New Logistics Hub in Chile
Swiss-based global transport and Logistics Company Kuehne + Nagel have bolstered their pharma logistics services in South America with a soon to be open logistics hub in Santiago de Chile.
The new dedicated warehousing solution will be a massive boost to the ever-growing demand of the pharma & healthcare industry in South America.
This new addition to the Kuehne + Nagel global KN PharmaChain network will enhance their regional footprint by providing high-quality multi-modal logistics solutions for temperature-controlled door-to-door transport. The facility is also another part of the company’s strategy to expand their GXP compliant warehousing and forwarding services on the global stage.
The new hub will offer 17,600 m2 of storage and distribution for temperature-sensitive products. This are can be further extended to 23,300 m2, a cold chamber is also included with a range of 15 to 25°C and 2 to 8°C.
The logistics hub was designed eco-friendly and complies with the highest security standards and state-of-the-art technology, resulting in increased operational capacities. A geothermal system will enable clean energy to be used, this system will regulate the temperature of the general area between 15c and 25c.
A significant reduction of energy consumption will be achieved by using air that that circulates through the subfloor.
