Emirates SkyCargo Receives Pharma CARE Award for Second Year Running

Dubai-based Emirates SkyCargo has once again received the prestigious DHL Global Forwarding Carrier Award for Reliability and Excellence (CARE) for the transportation of temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals.

Emirates Senior Vice President for Cargo Operations Worldwide, Henrik Ambak received the award on behalf of the airline at the 18th Global Life Sciences & Healthcare Conference organised by DHL at Baveno, Italy.

This is the second year in succession the airline has won the prestigious award.

Air cargo carriers who provide exceptional service, quality, ground handling along innovative technologies and processes for pharmaceutical shipments are recognized with The DHL CARE award. The 2018 award strengthens Emirates SkyCargo’s position as a leader for the transport of pharmaceuticals in the air cargo industry.

The airline has made major investments for the development of cutting-edge infrastructure and a state-of-the-art suite of solutions for the effective transportation of temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals throughout their global network of 160 destinations across six continents.

Dubai is home to Emirates SkyCargo GDP certified multi-airport hub and is the world’s largest such facility, providing over 8,600 square metres of combined handling space dedicated for pharmaceutical products at their two cargo terminals Emirates SkyCentral DWC and Emirates SkyCentral DXB.

Emirates SkyCargo has continued to develop innovations in the industry such as the Emirates Pharma Cool Dollies and the White Cover range of thermal blanket, devised in collaboration with DuPont. The air cargo carrier has also gone the extra mile by providing an unbroken cool chain for temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals by introducing pharma corridors.
