Turkish Cargo Contributing to Wildlife Survival
Turkish Cargo, one of the world’s leading air cargo carriers offering service to 122 countries across the globe is making significant contributions to animal rights and wildlife survival.
Due to the specialized cargo transportation service Turkish Cargo provides, animals threatened with extinction receive the utmost care contributing to the survival of the wildlife on a whole.
As a result of illegal hunting, hundreds of rhinos, elephants, lions, tigers, cheetahs, hippopotamus, are being slaughtered in Africa each year and their natural habitat is destroyed in the process.
The “United For Wildlife (Buckingham Palace) Declaration (UFW)” made on November 7, 2017, with the aim to prevent illegal wildlife trade and increase global awareness. Turkish Airlines has gained expert knowledge and prides itself on their cognizance pertaining to the live animal transportation processes and animal rights.
Regarding their own live animal transportation service, Turkish Cargo only transports animals born under protection from/to the qualified zoos, private institutions or recognized protection and rehabilitation centers. In addition, the airline takes the IATA LAR regulations and the CITES guidelines as the reference for the acceptance, storage and shipment processes, along with strictly implementing documentation, packing, labeling and marking guidelines, as described under the said regulations, during the course of the live animal transportation process.
