Emirates SkyCargo Delivers Lifesaving Medical Products to Africa
The freight division of Emirates Airlines, Emirates SkyCargo recently delivered lifesaving medical equipment from Seoul in South Korea to several countries across Africa.
The world’s largest international cargo airline carrier has transported over 800,000 units of malaria tester kits and other related essentials from South Korea to countries including Malawi, Zambia, Tanzania, Zimbabwe and Nigeria since 2015.
South Korea is renowned for their medical expertise and boasts world-class health system in terms of quality and access and is recognized as a leading exporter of medical and healthcare equipment. The total value of exports of medical equipment from the country in 2017 were valued at nearly 2.6 billion USD.
When transporting critical medical and testing equipment time is of the essence and Emirates SkyCargo provides one of the fastest transport times for cargo from Seoul to over 25 African destinations via Dubai. Healthcare exporters in Seoul benefit from the enhanced cargo capacity available on Emirates SkyCargo’s all wide body fleet of Boeing 777 and Airbus A380 passenger aircraft.
Emirates SkyCargo was recently awarded the prestigious 2018 Carrier Award for Reliability and Excellence (CARE) from DHL Global Forwarding for the transportation of temperature sensitive pharmaceuticals, this is the second year in a row the air cargo carrier has been bestowed this honor.
