Turkish Cargo Transport Five Endangered White Rhino’s to China
Turkish Cargo is a strong believer in the preservation of wildlife and have completed many live animal transportation’s in recent months. The most recent project was the transportation of five endangered white rhinos from Johannesburg, South Africa to Shanghai in China.
The rhinos each weighed 1 tonne and due to their endangered status will be supervised until they reach three years old. The white rhino was once the most abundant among the rhino species, however, due to illegal hunting for their horns they have quickly become endangered.
When working on a live animal project, Turkish Cargo only works in conjunction with qualified zoos, private institutions or acknowledged preservation and rehabilitation centers in order to prevent any type of animal trafficking. The five rhinos were accompanied by specialist teams and keepers throughout the journey to China.
Turkish Cargo, with this latest project, has increased the awareness in China of the detrimental effect that illegal hunting has on natural wildlife.
As with all live animal transportation services, Turkish Cargo adheres to the IATA Live Animals Regulations regarding storage, shipment, documentation, caging and labelling processes.
