Worldwide Flight Services Invest in New Cargo Terminal in Italy

One of the world’s leading ground handling organizations, offering high-quality cargo, passenger, premium, ramp, baggage and technical services, Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) recently announced a new investment to increase their ability to support growing cargo volumes at Milan-Malpensa Airport.

The new investment comes in the shape of a new cargo terminal capable of handling over 47,000 tonnes each year.

This will be WFS’ first cargo handling facility to operate in Italy, previously the company has only used offices to facilitate cargo operations supervision and documentation for both American Airlines and China Cargo Airlines.

The new terminal opened at the end of July 2018 and is strategically located in the newest freight building at Milan-Malpensa Airport, which combines 5,000 square meters of space allocated to warehousing with 3,000 square meters of ramp area along with 800 square meters of state-of-the-art office accommodation.

Worldwide Flight Services EVP Cargo Europe Middle East, Africa & Asia (EMEAA), John Batten said, “This latest development extends our strong foothold at major cargo airports across Europe and provides a new connection for our European network. In Milan, we will offer cargo handling and technology solutions that deliver the highest quality of service, safety and security, and we look forward to contributing to the airport’s continued success.”

Managing Director for Worldwide Flight Services Italy, Massimiliano Introini added, “This latest development extends our strong foothold at major cargo airports across Europe and provides a new connection for our European network.
