Cargogate Receive First GDP Pharma Certification for Munich Airport
Munich Airport subsidiary Cargogate, who have been providing cargo handling services to the airport since 1974 was recently awarded the designation of the pharma-certified warehouse. This marks the first GDP certification for Munich Airport.
The GDP (Good Distribution Practice of Medicinal Products for Human Use) ) is the European standard for the handling of medical products.
Cargogate offers warehouse facilities and solutions at Munich Airport for airlines that carry freight but do not have their own warehouse. The award was made in September 2018 by the German audit company DQS GmbH.
Cargogate Managing Director, Claudia Weidenbusch said, “We are delighted to have a certificate that demonstrates our continued high standards, this not only shows our excellent working practices as a Ground Handler but also our commitment to the patients who receive the pharmaceuticals. We are a reliable link in the supply chain that keeps these medicines effective.”
Cargogate also has an ongoing partnership with Envirotainer for the handling of temperature-controlled containers. Ms. Wedienbusch added, “Together with these containers and our GDP-certified facilities and standards we ensure delivery of the best possible service to our customers.”
