2018 Record-Breaking Year for American Airlines Cargo
Provider of over 45,000 Tonnes of weekly cargo to major cities in the United States, Europe, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, Latin America and the Asia Pacific, American Airlines Cargo, recently announced that 2018 was a record-breaking year.
The air cargo carrier experienced an exceptional year in 2018 with the division exceeding multiple all-time records for performance, volume and revenue, and breaking the $1 billion mark for revenue. The airline transported more than 900,000 tonnes of freight and mail across their network in 2018.
Vice President for Operations at American Airlines Cargo, said David Vance said, “Our Operations team set all-time performance records, while moving record volumes of freight and mail across our system this year, reaching our typical peak fall volumes month after month, It’s impressive, to say the least, and makes me very proud to lead Cargo Operations.”
As a result of the record volumes, the air cargo carrier surpassed the $1 billion in revenue mark for the first time in their history.
American Airlines Cargo President Rick Elieson said, We’ve had an incredible year, we set out to break records and did just that. We achieved a major revenue milestone, but more importantly, our teams handled record volume and still delivered the best operational performance in the history of our company.
