In anticipation of the upcoming peak season in air transport, DB Schenker has announced its collaboration with cargo.one to enhance its digital connection with more than 50 airlines worldwide. This partnership marks a significant expansion from the original nine airlines and aims to provide DB Schenker with increased access to airline capacities, allowing for more efficient and streamlined processes for its customers.

Thorsten Meincke, Global Board Member for Air & Ocean Freight at DB Schenker, emphasized the company’s commitment to digitalizing transportation solutions that are in high demand in the market. The increased access to airline capacities is expected to save time for customers and improve the overall efficiency of processes.

Christa Koenen, Global Board Member for Information Technology and Digitalization (CIO/CDO) at DB Schenker, highlighted the company’s dedication to leading the digitalization of the freight forwarding industry. By leveraging IT efficiency gains, DB Schenker aims to make the logistics industry more resource-efficient while providing enhanced options for its customers.

cargo.one, the chosen partner for digital transformation, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration with DB Schenker, emphasizing the benefits of a state-of-the-art air freight procurement platform that enhances efficiency and user-friendliness for the logistics provider.

The expansion of digital connectivity comes in response to the growing demand for rapid sourcing of air freight capacities and market prices amidst global supply chain disruptions and increasing e-commerce demand for air transport. DB Schenker has established direct API interfaces with nine airlines from various regions since 2022 and has now further scaled up its capabilities through the partnership with cargo.one.

By leveraging cargo.one’s air freight procurement technology, DB Schenker can seamlessly book with over 50 airlines and access spot capacities and trade lanes, with all processes bundled in the DB SCHENKER connect customer interface for streamlined access to rate offers and shipment status updates.
