dnata Logistics, a prominent global freight forwarder and logistics services provider, has officially commenced construction on a new, expansive 57,000 m² warehouse in Dubai South. This strategic development, located near Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC), marks a significant step in enhancing the emirate’s status as a key international logistics hub.
The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by HE Khalifa Al Zaffin, Executive Chairman of Dubai Aviation City Corporation and Dubai South, alongside dnata CEO Steve Allen and senior executives from both organizations.
Representing an investment of approximately $27 million, the state-of-the-art facility is set to enhance dnata Logistics’ operational capabilities in response to the increasing demand for cargo and logistics services in the region. With the capacity to handle 400,000 tonnes of cargo annually, the new warehouse will boost the company’s storage capacity by 50% and is expected to create over 50 new direct jobs.
Equipped with cutting-edge technologies, the facility will feature automated systems for cargo storage and retrieval, as well as advanced truck loading and offloading capabilities. An AI-driven warehouse management system will also be deployed, aimed at improving efficiency and providing greater value for dnata’s partners.
Highlighting dnata’s commitment to sustainability, the warehouse is designed with environmental efficiency at its core. Key features will include solar panels, rainwater harvesting systems, and smart HVAC systems. The facility aims to receive the global LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification within a year of its operational launch.
Construction is underway, with the project scheduled for completion in November 2025. With this new addition, dnata Logistics will operate from 11 locations throughout the UAE, providing world-class services to its clientele.
