The company is targeting to launch operations in the Italian capital in the second quarter of 2024.
Alberto Morosi, CEO of Airport Handling, said: “We are proud to have secured an operating license at another leading Italian airport due to a highly competitive tender process. Expanding into Rome Fiumicino is a significant milestone that aligns with our growth strategy and underlines our commitment to consistently enhancing our operations.
Airport Handling will provide a range of quality and safe ramp and passenger services to airlines in Rome. It has already invested over €20 million to purchase new ground support equipment (GSE), including advanced electric vehicles. Having recruited a local senior management team familiar with the Rome market, Airport Handling is targeting employing over 1,800 customer-oriented aviation professionals at FCO.
