FedEx has introduced the Collaborative Shipping Tool, a new digital platform designed to simplify and enhance the import process by facilitating direct collaboration between importers and shippers during Airway Bill (AWB) creation. This tool aims to improve logistics efficiency in the face of increasing global trade, particularly with projected import growth in Asia.
The Collaborative Shipping Tool addresses challenges such as failed pickups and lack of shipment visibility, allowing importers to share the AWB creation process with shippers. This enables shippers to confirm shipment details and schedule pickups based on their readiness, improving the success rate of pickups and minimizing delays.
Salil Chari, senior vice president of Marketing and Customer Experience at FedEx Asia Pacific, emphasized the importance of digital innovation in navigating complex supply chains, stating that the tool fosters seamless collaboration and optimizes supply chains.
Key benefits include enhanced flexibility, improved visibility with real-time insights, and a user-friendly experience. The tool is available to FedEx import customers in numerous regions, complementing existing digital solutions like the FedEx Import Tool and reinforcing FedEx’s commitment to improving import logistics efficiency.
