Hellmann Worldwide Logistics has acquired the remaining shares in HPL Apollo, its perishable logistics joint venture, from Mercury Aviation. This strategic move strengthens Hellmann’s commitment to the perishables market and expands its global footprint.
HPL Apollo, headquartered in Los Angeles, specializes in the transportation of perishable goods by air, sea, and road. This acquisition follows 12 years of successful collaboration between Hellmann and Mercury Aviation.
“We are committed to expanding internationally, with North America being a key focus in our journey,” said Jens Drewes, CEO of Hellmann Worldwide Logistics.
Expanding Footprint in the Americas
Hellmann has a strong presence in the perishables market across the Americas, with established operations in Peru, Mexico, Brazil, and Chile. The integration of HPL Apollo will further enhance Hellmann’s presence in the USA, where it already operates in key locations including Miami, Los Angeles, Honolulu, and San Francisco.

Hellmann plans to expand into new strategic markets in the Americas, such as Colombia, Ecuador, and Central America, in the coming years, further solidifying its commitment to regional growth.
Continuity and Leadership
Ivo Skorin, who has been with HPL Apollo since 2012, will continue to serve as managing director, ensuring a smooth transition and leveraging his expertise in the perishables sector.
