Nippon Express has substantially expanded the emergency power systems at its Narita Airport Logistics Center General Building and Narita Airport Logistics Center No. 3, both located within its Narita Air Cargo City complex near Narita Airport, to step up preparations against natural disasters.

By increasing the number of emergency power generators via these facility enhancements, the Narita Airport Logistics Center General Building and Narita Airport Logistics Center No. 3, key locations for handling air cargo, will have enough emergency power to sustain ordinary cargo operations and the administrative tasks incidental thereto for 72 hours. This will enable these locations to maintain a normal level of service even during blackouts while keeping on-site operational staff safe.

In addition to augmenting emergency power systems, efforts are underway at this Center to secure alternate facilities, improve the communications/network environment and otherwise introduce greater sophistication into business continuity plans.
