Pattaya Airways, a Thai airline, has welcomed its first ATR 72-500 Freighter cargo aircraft, registered HS-PAW and named “Tandhima”. The company’s management team, led by Mr. Tosaporn Asunee, President of Pattaya Group, and Mr. Nat Bunyawijkanon, Chief Executive Officer, welcomed the aircraft, which is in line with Pattaya Airways’ operational plan.

The company plans to use two ATR 72-500 Freighter aircraft to pioneer the air cargo market and support the growth of the logistics and e-commerce industry in the ASEAN region. The aircraft is highly efficient in carrying goods, including agricultural products, food, pharmaceuticals, and electronic components. It can carry up to 8 tons of cargo and fly up to 900 nautical miles.

Mr. Tosaporn Asunee, President of Pattaya Group, stated that the airline is committed to providing the most advanced and efficient air cargo services in ASEAN. By expanding its ATR 72-500 Freighter fleet, the airline will be able to meet the needs of a wide range of customers and expand its cargo network to different countries. The airline plans to increase its fleet to five aircraft by 2028.

Mr. Nat Bunyawijkanon, CEO of Pattaya Group, added that the airline has already obtained an Air Operating License (AOL) from the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand and is currently in the process of applying for an Air Operator Certificate (AOC). The airline is expected to start operating in August 2024 in partnership with B2B partners who have signed a joint trade agreement.

The airline’s commitment to expanding the e-commerce market is in response to the growing trend of consumers turning to online shopping. Air cargo services provide another channel to facilitate and expand the business of entrepreneurs quickly and efficiently while saving transportation time.

Pattaya Group’s companies, including Pattaya Airways, offer business continuity in providing ground services and air cargo transportation domestically and internationally. The airline is also introducing new technology innovations in airlines and airport services that meet global standards. Mr. Tosaporn Asunee concluded that the airline has the ability to operate aviation sustainably in all aspects.
