Yusen Logistics has joined the cargo SAF program operated by Korean Air. The Cargo SAF Program is one of Korean Air’s initiatives to promote the use of SAF in collaboration with shippers and forwarders to achieve the aviation industry’s net-zero emission goal. Korean Air initiated this program in September 2023 and implemented various mitigation measures, including collaboration with governments, fuel suppliers and aircraft manufacturers. We have concluded a contract with Korean Air for 2024 to support our customers’ sustainability goals through our “Yusen Book-and-Claim” service and spur more demand for SAF.

Aligning to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, Yusen Logistics announced in November 2023 a medium-term target of reducing Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions by 45% by 2030, focusing primarily on Scope 1 and 2 emissions. Further strengthening our collaboration with airlines and expanding our global network utilizing SAF, we will continue to meet the increasing demand for SAF and contribute to achieving a sustainable society.
