Yusen Logistics has obtained third-party assurance for its Yusen Book-and-Claim service utilizing SAF for air freight shipments. It will provide its certificate to customers starting January 2024.
Since the initial SAF partnership in 2022, Yusen Logistics has been at the forefront of environmental stewardship in the logistics sector. “Yusen Book-and-Claim” service was launched in April 2023, collaborating with our extensive SAF partner airlines to offer emission reduction service to our esteemed customers as a carbon in-setting solution. The service is refined by offering a one-stop-shop service with its certificate launching on 1 January 2024.
Yusen Logistics has obtained third-party assurance from ClassNK in compliance with ISO 14064-3 standards. This validation by ClassNK ensures the “Yusen Book-and-Claim” service is prepared concerning applicable guidelines and standards. This is an important milestone to ensure credibility and provide trustworthy customer service, like our traditional air freight products.
Aligning to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, Yusen Logistics announced in November 2023 a medium-term target of reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 45% by 2030, focusing primarily on Scope 1 and 2 emissions. Recognizing the challenges in addressing Scope 3 emissions, we have taken proactive steps to decarbonize air freight footprint through SAF and extend the scope to our customers as a component connecting with their sustainability journey.
