One of the world’s leading international cargo carriers, Russian-based AirBridgeCargo Airlines recently announced they have signed a deal with one of the leading international service partners for unit load devices (ULD) management, Jettainer, for the provision of ULDs on short term requirement for transportation of special cargoes.

AirBridgeCargo made this move as a result of the increased demand for safe and intact delivery of cargoes requiring compliance with special conditions and environment. The air cargo carrier will now have access to an extensive range of ULDs, such as car racks, horse stalls and a variety of containers to support their bespoke services.

AirBridgeCargo Airlines General Director, Sergey Lazarev commented, “Being determined to move forward with strengthening our specialist services for the transportation of live animals and automotive equipment of different scales and complexities, we are delighted to partner with Jettainer. By having a reliable and experienced partner with extensive geographical coverage, we will be able to guarantee fast and seamless deliveries for our customers worldwide.”

Managing Director of Jettainer, Carsten Hernig said, “Our leasing model meets the growing customer demand for short-term access to standard ULDs as well as special containers wherever they are needed. We are very pleased to be able to use our know-how and global network for one of the fastest growing cargo airlines and to support AirBridgeCargo in providing the right ULDs for all transports at all time,”

AirBridgeCargo has placed a key focus on bolstering their logistics solutions for customers with special cargoes through the alignment of their internal processes, this included the introduction of new IT solutions along with recruiting more dedicated cargo professionals.

The company experienced a 25% growth for their special cargoes in 2018, this upward trend is expected to continue in 2019 and beyond.

Jettainer has devised the JettLease product for short-term ULD requirements, the service provides rental contracts for standard as well as special ULDs from one day up to several months.
