Saha Group and its 70 subsidiaries are partnering with DHL Express to drive sustainability in air freight operations. Using DHLExpress’ GoGreen Plus service, Saha Group’s subsidiaries will leverage Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) to reduce carbon emissions associated with their air shipments. This partnership aims to minimize the environmental impact of Saha Group’s logistics activities, with SAF enabling more than 80% reduction of air transport shipments’ lifecycles carbon emissions.

“Saha Group and DHL Express share a mutual commitment to sustainability. Especially for environmental protection, the Group focuses on using resources efficiently based on the principles of the circular economy and actively reducing carbon emissions, one of the leading causes of environmental impact, from our logistics activities. This collaboration demonstrates our drive for sustainable logistics. As part of this collaboration, our 70 subsidiaries under Saha Group are fully committed to utilizing DHLExpress” GoGreen Plus service for our air transportation activities, both export and import. The service will empower us to reduce our Scope 3 emissions through the use of SAF, which will be made from alternative raw materials such as cooking oil, agricultural waste, and green hydrogen in the future. The SAF can reduce carbon emissions by more than 80% compared to traditional jet fuel. By adopting this innovative solution, we are delivering change to our world,” says Pipope Chokwatana, Board of Director and Executive Director, Saha Pathana Inter-Holding Public Company Limited.

Scope 1 describes direct emissions from our own activities, Scope 2 emissions from purchased energy, and Scope 3 includes all other indirect emissions that occur in an organization’s upstream and downstream activities. The signing ceremony for this collaboration between Saha Group and DHL Express will occur during the Saha Group Fair 28th Edition on June 28, 2024.

“The partnership with Saha Group is a step in the right direction. Together, we want to make international express shipping more sustainable. The fact that we are offering the GoGreen Plus service through using SAF in our international network lays the foundation for this. We hope this agreement will inspire other companies to transition to low-emission transportation services using sustainable aviation fuel,” says Herbert Vongpusanachai, Managing Director, DHL Express Thailand and Head of Indochina.

The GoGreen Plus service is part of DHLGroup’ss sustainability goal of achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050. It allows customers to reduce their indirect Scope 3 emissions in their value chain, including up- and downstream transportation and distribution. It also helps customers with voluntary reporting of GHG emissions and progress against their decarbonization targets. Companies can significantly reduce their air transport shipments’ lifecycle carbon emissions by more than 80% through SAF.
