Gebrüder Weiss Majority Stake Istanbul-Based Customs Logistics Provider Sienzi Lojistik

Gebrüder Weiss, the global transport and logistics company, has significantly strengthened its presence in Türkiye by acquiring a majority stake in Sienzi Lojistik, a leading customs warehousing expert in Istanbul. The strategic move integrates specialized expertise into the Gebrüder Weiss network to better serve customers with complex international supply chain requirements.

Following the close of the transaction in January 2026, subject to regulatory approval, the company will operate as an independent entity under the new name, Sienzi Lojistik – a Company of Gebrüder Weiss. Murat Doğan will remain the managing director and a shareholder in the company.

Enhancing Integrated Logistics Solutions

The investment solidifies a partnership that has spanned nearly a decade. The acquisition is a strategic step toward providing integrated, one-stop logistics solutions.

Wolfram Senger-Weiss, CEO of Gebrüder Weiss, stated, “This investment strengthens our foothold in the Turkish market and brings our partner’s customs warehousing expertise into the Gebrüder Weiss network on a long-term basis. It’s a strategic step to deliver integrated, one-stop logistics solutions for customers with demanding supply chain requirements.”

Murat Doğan, Managing Director of Sienzi Lojistik and Vice President of the Turkish Customs Warehouse Association, added that joining forces with one of the industry’s most traditional logistics companies enhances their competitive edge, allows them to broaden their service portfolio, and promotes Türkiye’s vital role in international trade.

Istanbul: A Strategic Gateway

Sienzi Lojistik’s bonded warehouse plays a crucial role in handling imports, exports, and transshipment operations. According to Mişel Yakop, Country Manager Türkiye at Gebrüder Weiss, this allows for greater flexibility, cost efficiency, and planning reliability. Goods can be stored until customs duties are cleared or transit procedures are completed, and shipments from various countries of origin can be consolidated.

The acquisition reinforces the company’s Istanbul hub as a full-service logistics center, with the firm also looking to explore new business segments, including textiles and industrial clients.

Thomas Moser, Director and Regional Manager Black Sea/CIS at Gebrüder Weiss, emphasized the strategic importance of the location: “Istanbul’s location—at the crossroads of Europe and Asia—makes it a strategic gateway to numerous markets. We see significant growth opportunities in this region.”
