Rhenus, a global leader in logistics services, has officially opened a new office in Abu Dhabi, marking a significant expansion of its United Arab Emirates (UAE) network. Located in the ADAFZ (Abu Dhabi Airports Free Zone) within Abu Dhabi Business Park 01, the new facility is positioned immediately adjacent to Zayed International Airport to provide mission-critical support for the region’s aviation and industrial sectors.
The Abu Dhabi office functions as a branch of Rhenus’ Dubai operations, creating a unified logistics corridor that enhances service agility across the Emirates.
Targeting the UAE’s Industrial Powerhouses
The new ADAFZ entity is specifically designed to cater to the high-demand verticals that drive Abu Dhabi’s economy. By establishing a physical presence in the capital, Rhenus is offering end-to-end supply chain solutions—including air, ocean, and overland freight, alongside specialized customs brokerage and warehousing—for several key industries:
- Aeroparts & Aviation: Providing rapid-response logistics for AOG (Aircraft on Ground) situations and scheduled maintenance support.
- Oil & Gas: Managing complex, oversized cargo movements and urgent equipment deliveries for the energy sector.
- Industrial Engineering: Supporting manufacturing and infrastructure projects with integrated, door-to-door project logistics.
A Growing Transshipment Powerhouse
This expansion follows a transformative 2025 for Rhenus in the UAE, during which the company launched a new Air-Ocean product that utilizes the Emirates as a primary global transshipment hub connecting Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
Key Strategic Milestones:
- ADAFZ Advantage: Operating within the free zone ensures faster customs clearance and seamless access to one of the region’s most advanced air cargo facilities.
- Event Logistics: Rhenus was recently named the Exclusive Official Logistics Partner for INDEX exhibitions for 2026 and 2027, showcasing its capability to manage high-volume, time-sensitive event freight.
- Regional Reach: The move reinforces Rhenus’ global network of 1,330 locations, allowing UAE-based businesses to tap into a logistics web spanning 70 countries.
Leadership Perspective
Hassan Alzeer, Managing Director at Rhenus Logistics UAE, stated that the move “reinforces our commitment to the UAE market and strengthens our ability to deliver high-quality end-to-end supply chain solutions.” Ameen Sainudeen, the newly appointed Branch Manager for the Abu Dhabi office, emphasized that the proximity to the airport provides a distinct strategic advantage in supporting the region’s most dynamic industrial sectors.
As the UAE continues to diversify its economy under the “We the UAE 2031” vision, the expansion of Rhenus into Abu Dhabi provides the logistical backbone necessary for sustained industrial and commercial growth.
