Global GSA Group has signed a three-year agreement with Qantas Freight to serve as the Australian carrier’s general sales agent (GSA) in Europe. The partnership will focus on expanding cargo capacity and connectivity between mainland Europe, Australia, and broader Oceania markets.
The collaboration will leverage Qantas’ direct services from Rome and Paris, supported by Global GSA Group’s interline network across 25 European countries. Qantas operates seasonal flights from Rome’s Fiumicino Airport with three weekly Boeing 787-9 services, offering approximately 45 tonnes of cargo capacity per flight during the European summer. Year-round operations continue from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport with the same frequency and aircraft type. Seasonal Rome-Perth-Sydney services are set to launch on 15 June 2025.
“As the only Australian carrier providing direct services from two European ports to Australia, Qantas offers extensive opportunities for freight forwarders to reach both domestic and international destinations in Oceania,” said Aytekin Saray, CEO of Global GSA Group. “We look forward to supporting Qantas with a robust European cargo network and expanding online operations.”
Igor Kwiatkowski, Executive Manager of Qantas Freight, highlighted the strategic importance of the partnership: “Global GSA Group’s expertise and strong regional presence will enable us to better serve freight forwarders and meet the growing demand for e-commerce and high-value shipments between Europe and Australia.”
Qantas’ Paris-Perth-Sydney service (QF34) departs Charles de Gaulle every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, connecting with Melbourne, Brisbane, and onward Oceania destinations. Meanwhile, the seasonal Rome-Perth-Sydney service (QF6) will operate on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 15 June to 3 October 2025.
