Qatar Airways Cargo Airlink Five-Year Humanitarian Partnership

In a joint announcement on World Humanitarian Day, Qatar Airways Cargo and Airlink highlighted the achievements of their five-year partnership. Through the airline’s “WeQare” program, Qatar Airways Cargo has transported 720 tonnes of life-saving aid pro bono, reaching over 15.5 million people in 34 countries.

The collaboration has provided a significant financial benefit to humanitarian organizations, saving them an estimated $6.59 million in logistics costs that could be redirected to direct relief efforts.

Key Role in Global Emergency Response

In 2024 alone, Qatar Airways Cargo shipped 136 tonnes of essential supplies, including medicines, clean water, and shelter materials, to 12 countries, supporting 16 of Airlink’s partner NGOs. This contribution saved these organizations $2.19 million. The partnership has collectively responded to more than 20 global emergencies.

Mark Drusch, Chief Officer Cargo at Qatar Airways Cargo, stated that the airline is committed to ensuring aid is delivered to the right place at the right time. Stephanie Steege, Vice President of Humanitarian Programs at Airlink, praised the partnership as critical for swiftly delivering aid to hard-to-reach areas.

A Commitment to Service and Recognition

Beyond its work with Airlink, Qatar Airways Cargo continues to support other humanitarian organizations such as UNHCR, UNICEF, and the World Food Programme. In the financial year 2024-2025, the airline transported a total of 470,000 kilograms of humanitarian aid. The company’s consistent efforts were recognized earlier in 2025 with the Air Transport World (ATW) Humanitarian Award, a testament to its use of its network and resources for vital aid and disaster relief.
