Kuehne+Nagel and ABB have expanded their collaboration in Chile with a new agreement for Contract Logistics services. The partnership, which builds on a decade of cooperation in the country and more than 30 years globally, now includes solutions for last-mile delivery and fulfillment operations.
Integrating Logistics and Sustainability
Under the new contract, Kuehne+Nagel will support ABB’s three business units—Electrification, Motion, and Process Automation. The logistics provider has implemented a new cross-docking service, which is integrated with its air logistics team to enhance efficiency. Operations will be managed from Kuehne+Nagel’s multi-customer distribution center in Santiago, a modern facility that was inaugurated in 2024.
Sustainability is a key component of the expanded partnership. The two companies are working to reduce the environmental impact of their joint operations, with Kuehne+Nagel deploying a dedicated electric fleet to serve ABB. The goal is a 15% reduction in energy consumption through efficiency projects and the planned installation of photovoltaic panels in 2026. Additionally, a new waste management plan aims for a 90% reduction in landfill-bound waste, with a long-term goal of achieving zero-waste operations.
A Strategic Move for Both Companies
Javier Ansó, Head of Contract Logistics at Kuehne+Nagel Chile, stated that the expanded cooperation reflects a shared commitment to increasingly sustainable and efficient logistics. For ABB, the partnership provides a more agile and secure distribution network with a clear focus on sustainability. The collaboration positions both companies to meet evolving industry challenges while supporting the growth of ABB’s national operations.
