Riyadh Air has announced a strategic partnership with Unilode Aviation Solutions for the supply, digital tracking, and full lifecycle management of Unit Load Devices (ULDs), ahead of the airline’s official launch in 2025. The agreement supports Riyadh Air’s rapid fleet expansion and aligns with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals to transform Saudi Arabia into a leading global logistics hub.

Under the partnership, Unilode will provide lightweight, fuel-efficient ULDs embedded with Bluetooth tracking technology. This enables real-time asset visibility, condition monitoring, and stock optimisation across Riyadh Air’s global network. The solution is designed to reduce loss, mishandling, and disruptions during irregular operations.

The agreement includes comprehensive MRO and operational support via Unilode’s global repair network, ensuring uptime and availability as Riyadh Air scales up its cargo and passenger operations. The airline plans to operate a fleet of more than 180 aircraft by 2030 and aims to serve over 100 international destinations, generating an estimated USD 20 billion in non-oil GDP and creating more than 200,000 jobs worldwide.

Adam Boukadida, Chief Financial Officer of Riyadh Air, said the partnership reflects the airline’s ambition to deliver a seamless and sustainable experience. “Our collaboration with Unilode is more than a technological upgrade—it’s about building trust, reducing our environmental footprint, and delivering the premium service our guests deserve. Together, we’re shaping the future of travel with smart, human-centred solutions.”

The full-service model provided by Unilode encompasses not just equipment supply but also global maintenance, repairs, and digital platform access. The partnership is consistent with Unilode’s approach to long-term airline collaboration, which focuses on innovation, asset lifecycle optimisation, and digital transformation.

Ross Marino, Chief Executive Officer of Unilode, said: “Partnering with Riyadh Air at such a pivotal stage of its journey underscores our ability to deliver long-term value. Our innovative ULD solutions, unrivalled global network, and pioneering digital capabilities will give Riyadh Air the operational resilience and flexibility needed to become one of the world’s most forward-thinking airlines. We are proud to support the Kingdom’s aviation transformation and contribute to Vision 2030.”

With Riyadh Air positioning itself as a catalyst for next-generation aviation, the partnership highlights how digital asset management and sustainability are becoming essential components in the logistics strategies of emerging global carriers.
