
New MoU Aims to Transform Hail into a Key Air Cargo and Logistics Hub
Saudia Cargo, the national air cargo carrier, and the Hail Region Development Authority (HRDA) have formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to significantly enhance air cargo and logistics services within the Hail region. The agreement was executed under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Saad bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Hail Region.
His Royal Highness praised the Kingdom’s leadership for their comprehensive support of the logistics sector, underscoring Hail’s strategic emergence as a vital logistics hub. He emphasised that this partnership and similar regional initiatives are instrumental in achieving the economic diversification and sustainable development objectives outlined in Saudi Vision 2030.
Core Pillars of the Strategic Collaboration
The MoU signifies a shared dedication by Saudia Cargo and HRDA to harness their respective capabilities to drive economic growth in the area. The partnership is structured around several critical areas:
- Strategic Alignment: Coordinating long-term goals to ensure logistics development supports overall regional plans.
- Economic Stimulus: Introducing special shipping rates specifically designed to boost regional exports and encourage trade activity.
- Logistics Facilitation: Actively supporting regional logistics initiatives and ensuring efficient exchange of vital information.
- Joint Projects: Launching collaborative ventures to improve the logistics infrastructure and services.
Marketing and Promotion: Coordinating marketing campaigns to promote Hail’s major agricultural and tourism seasons, ultimately enhancing the overall customer experience across the region.
Eng. Loay Mashabi, CEO and Managing Director of Saudia Cargo, commented that the agreement is an important strategic move that reinforces the company’s commitment to strengthening logistics services nationwide. He projected that the partnership will generate substantial opportunities, foster a more competitive logistics environment, and contribute directly to sustainable job creation and a supportive local economy in Hail.
Omar Abdullah Al Abdul-Jabbar, CEO of the Hail Region Development Authority, affirmed the significance of the collaboration, calling it a strategic milestone in realising Hail’s full potential as a key logistics gateway. He concluded that the MoU will effectively help attract investments, create new economic opportunities, and enhance the efficiency of trade and exports originating from the region.
