CEVA Logistics has begun construction of a new 27,000 sq m warehouse in Tórtola de Henares, Guadalajara, to support the Spanish growth plans of air conditioning manufacturer Daikin.
Construction followed a groundbreaking ceremony held in December, with operations scheduled to start in the first quarter of 2027. The facility represents a dedicated logistics site for Daikin and forms part of its expansion strategy in Spain.
The project is intended to optimise Daikin’s logistics flows and includes the deployment of upgraded infrastructure and IT systems to support inventory management and product traceability. The development also covers new storage systems, revised operational layouts, office space and specialised installations such as drive-in storage.
The warehouse has been designed to meet recognised standards for quality, operational efficiency and sustainability. It is targeting BREEAM Very Good certification and will incorporate renewable energy sources, LED lighting, water-efficiency systems and lower carbon construction materials.
CEVA Logistics said the development supports its approach to customised and lower-emission logistics solutions in sectors including HVAC and technology.
Long-Term Partnership in Spain
The Tórtola de Henares project marks a further step in the long-running collaboration between the two companies. Daikin marked 25 years of operations in Spain in 2025, including 21 years working with CEVA Logistics as a logistics partner.
CEVA currently manages Daikin operations from its Alovera facility in Spain. The additional warehouse capacity is expected to increase operational flexibility and support future business requirements.
Puerto Ahedo, Contract Logistics Leader Spain at CEVA Logistics, said the project represented a milestone in the long-term partnership and would support Daikin’s continued growth in the Spanish market.
