Emirates SkyCargo has become the first regional airline to partner with PayCargo, a leading logistics payment platform, for its operations in the United Arab Emirates. This collaboration introduces a new digital payment solution to streamline cargo transactions, aiming to enhance operational efficiency for freight forwarders and other cargo stakeholders in the region.

Modernizing Cargo Payment Processes

The launch of PayCargo in the UAE marks a significant shift away from traditional, often inefficient, payment methods, including cash transactions, that have historically dominated the cargo industry. Through this integration, Emirates SkyCargo customers in the UAE can now make instant payments via credit card or direct debit. This functionality is expected to ensure same-day or next-business-day cargo release, aligning with Emirates SkyCargo’s commitment to adopting digital solutions that improve customer service and operational speed.

Badr Abbas, Divisional Senior Vice President at Emirates SkyCargo, highlighted that the future of logistics will be defined by smart technology. He stated that the partnership with PayCargo positions Emirates SkyCargo at the forefront of this evolution by providing faster and more secure transactions for customers and internal teams.

Strategic Impact on UAE Logistics

Eduardo Del Riego, President and CEO of PayCargo, expressed enthusiasm for the launch in the UAE, noting Emirates SkyCargo as their inaugural regional partner. He emphasized that the digital solution will save customers valuable time by eliminating manual payment systems.

This partnership follows a strategic alliance formed in 2022 between PayCargo and Seed Group, a company under the Private Office of Sheikh Saeed bin Ahmed Al Maktoum, which played a crucial role in introducing PayCargo to the UAE market. The integration of such digital infrastructure with a major international airline like Emirates SkyCargo is expected to bolster the UAE’s position as a leading global logistics hub and contribute to increased resilience in the supply chain.
