Global GSA Group has expanded its partnership with China Southern Airlines Cargo following the appointment of its subsidiary, Mondial Airline Services Spain, as the carrier’s cargo representative in Spain.
Mondial Airline Services Spain was awarded the tender to represent China Southern Airlines Cargo locally and managed the launch of the airline’s new direct cargo connection between Madrid and Guangzhou. The service commenced on 2 December 2025, with China Southern Airlines operating three weekly Boeing 787-9 flights between Madrid-Barajas and Guangzhou Baiyun.
The new route marked China Southern Airlines Cargo’s entry into the Spanish market. Mondial Airline Services Spain now handles commercial activities, customer relations and operational coordination, acting as the airline’s local representative and supporting day-to-day cargo operations.
The inaugural flight departed on 2 December carrying a mix of general cargo and temperature-sensitive goods. The service operates three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, offering direct access to one of China’s key cargo hubs, with onward widebody connections across China, Asia, Australia and New Zealand. The route supports a range of cargo types, including general freight, time-sensitive shipments and specialised products such as pharmaceuticals and seafood. Each Boeing 787-9 flight provides a capacity of approximately 15 tonnes and 80 cubic metres.
Aytekin Saray, Chief Executive Officer of Global GSA Group, said the company had an established partnership with China Southern Airlines Cargo across several European markets and welcomed the expansion of the cooperation to Spain. He added that Mondial Airline Services Spain would support the airline’s long-term route development through local market expertise and engagement with the Spanish freight forwarding community.
