K-Mile Air Cargo Routes Northern Thailand Abu Dhabi

Express freight carrier K-Mile Air has successfully expanded its international network with the launch of new scheduled cargo flights connecting Northern Thailand directly to the Middle East. The inaugural services operate from both Chiang Rai International Airport (CEI) and Chiang Mai International Airport (CNX) to Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) in the United Arab Emirates.

The expansion marks a significant milestone for Northern Thai exporters, establishing a dedicated, high-capacity aerial bridge to one of the primary logistics hubs in the UAE.

Milestone Fleet Operations via Boeing 767

The historic first flight in this network expansion, operating under flight number 8K252, took place on May 5, 2026. The route is serviced by K-Mile Air’s dedicated widebody fleet, deploying a Boeing 767-300 BCF (Boeing Converted Freighter) to handle the long-haul capacity.

Key Highlights of the New Service:

  • Direct Network Access: Eliminates the necessity for northern cargo to be trucked down to Bangkok (BKK) before export, significantly reducing domestic transit times.
  • Dedicated Widebody Tonnage: The utilization of the Boeing 767 freighter ensures reliable, heavy-lift capacity for agricultural products, electronics, and manufactured goods unique to the northern region.
  • Enhanced Middle East Gateway: Abu Dhabi serves as a strategic transit point, allowing cargo to seamlessly connect to broader networks across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.

Boosting Regional Trade and Supply Chain Efficiency

The introduction of direct flights from Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai creates fresh commercial opportunities for regional businesses and freight forwarders. By optimizing the supply chain corridor between Asia and the Middle East, K-Mile Air provides a faster, more cost-effective alternative for time-sensitive commodities.

The rollout of these services underscores K-Mile Air’s broader corporate strategy to position Thailand as a highly competitive air freight hub, ensuring local industries enjoy reliable, end-to-end global connectivity.
