va-Q-tec, a leading provider of thermal packaging solutions for temperature-controlled logistics, is growing and expanding its presence in Singapore. On April 3, 2023, the company moved into a new, larger location west of the city. In 2018, va-Q-tec opened its first site in Singapore. The new location triples the capacities and enables growth beyond that in the coming years. In the future, more than 50,000 packaging boxes per year can be dispatched from the new site in Singapore. This means that temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals and medical devices from more than 100 multinational healthcare and pharmaceutical companies with production sites in Singapore can be shipped worldwide. va-Q-tec’s high-performance thermal packaging solutions ensure temperature stability for up to 10 days without needing an external energy supply.

Dr Joachim Kuhn, founder and CEO of va-Q-tec, says: “Singapore is one of the most important locations for pharmaceutical companies from all over the world in the APAC region. Since 2018, we have sold and rented thousands of high-performance thermal transport boxes and containers in the region. Our new and larger location reflects our growth and is also an investment in the future. Many pharmaceuticals require safe temperature-controlled transport, which we can guarantee with our high-tech boxes in an energy-efficient way.”

Wallace Tay, Managing Director of va-Q-tec in Singapore, adds: “With our high-performance thermal packaging and experienced technical customer service team, we meet all customer requirements quickly and according to their needs. As a result, the number of our transport boxes and containers sold and rented in Singapore has increased by a double-digit percentage every year so far. We are keeping up with this momentum with the new location.”

For the German-headquartered and globally active company, Singapore is an important gateway to the growing Asian market. In addition to Singapore, China, India, Japan, and Korea are regional markets for va-Q-tec in Asia. The company has several subsidiaries in Europe, the USA and Latin America. The company’s passive temperature-controlled transport solutions are sustainable and energy-saving. Since 2020, va-Q-tec has been operating in a CO2-neutral manner. In addition, the reusable transport boxes are almost fully recyclable. va-Q-tec is nominated for the “EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year” award in 2023.
