Emirates SkyCargo Copenhagen Freighter Network

Emirates SkyCargo, the freight division of Emirates, is expanding its freighter network by adding a dedicated weekly service to Copenhagen Airport. This move comes in response to growing demand from Denmark and neighbouring countries.

The Boeing 777 freighter service will significantly increase cargo capacity from Copenhagen, offering approximately 85 tonnes of capacity per flight. This will primarily benefit pharmaceutical shipments, a sector that has seen over 20% growth in volume from Denmark in the last financial year.

Copenhagen, with its strong life sciences industry and robust cold chain infrastructure, serves as a major pharmaceutical logistics hub in Northern Europe. Emirates SkyCargo’s enhanced capacity, specialized pharma products, and extensive global network will further support Danish pharmaceutical exports.

“Demand has been strong across Scandinavia, with particular growth in Copenhagen, and we expect this to continue,” said Mette Jensen, Cargo Manager for Scandinavia at Emirates SkyCargo. “Bolstering our operations to Copenhagen with a dedicated freighter ensures that we can meet current demand and support our customers in reaching a large number of markets across the globe.”

In addition to pharmaceuticals, Emirates SkyCargo will offer tailored solutions for various cargo types, including general cargo and temperature-sensitive perishables such as fish and other food products.

With the addition of Copenhagen, Emirates SkyCargo now serves 11 destinations across Europe with 38 dedicated freighter flights per week, complemented by over 485 passenger flights weekly. This extensive network reinforces Europe as one of the airline’s key markets.
