KLN Logistics Group Limited has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Hong Kong Fire Services Department to enhance logistics support for international emergency and rescue operations.

The agreement was formalised at a ceremony in Hong Kong on 20 March 2026 and is aimed at improving mobilisation efficiency for overseas rescue missions.

Strengthening Emergency Logistics Capabilities

Under the partnership, KLN will provide logistics support for the Hong Kong, China Search and Rescue Team by leveraging its global network, freight expertise and infrastructure.

The collaboration builds on previous joint efforts, including participation in international disaster response operations, and is intended to improve the speed and coordination of deploying personnel and critical supplies.

Focus Areas of Collaboration

The MOU outlines several areas of cooperation, including the development of pre-positioned supply hubs across KLN’s global network to support faster response times.

Both parties will also explore the use of digital tools, including AI-driven models, to enhance planning, resource allocation and operational coordination during rescue missions.

Additional initiatives include the use of tracking and resource management platforms to improve visibility over equipment and supplies, as well as post-mission analysis to support more efficient future deployments.

Supporting Global Humanitarian Response

The partnership reflects a broader effort to integrate logistics capabilities into international disaster response, enabling more efficient delivery of aid and support in affected areas.

Ellis Cheng, Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer of KLN, said the collaboration represents a continuation of the company’s involvement in humanitarian logistics and its commitment to supporting emergency response efforts globally.
