
The international airline association BARIG (Board of Airline Representatives in Germany) has welcomed Swiftair as its newest member from the air freight sector. Swiftair is a Spanish cargo carrier with over 30 years of experience, primarily serving routes within Europe and to North and West Africa.

Swiftair, founded in 1986 and headquartered at Madrid–Barajas Airport, maintains a diverse fleet of 43 freighters, including the ATR42, ATR-72, B737, B757, and A321 aircraft types. The airline offers customized air freight services, wet-lease and charter flights, and aircraft maintenance services. Its established customer base includes leading global logistics companies as well as the United Nations.

Michael Hoppe, BARIG Chairman and Executive Director, emphasized the importance of the new membership, noting that air freight is undergoing significant transformation and requires new and flexible solutions. He stated, “We are delighted that Swiftair is complementing the portfolio of our more than 30 international cargo airlines with its air freight services.”
Marcel Fleck, Country Manager Germany for Swiftair, highlighted the value of the collaboration, explaining that cooperation within the BARIG air cargo community offers a good platform for further developing their service portfolio. He added that Swiftair looks forward to engaging in the working groups and contributing to the successful future of the industry.
