DSV Healthcare Logistics Excellence Workshop 2026 Indonesia

lobal freight forwarder and supply chain integrator DSV has concluded its specialized Healthcare Logistics Excellence Workshop 2026 in Indonesia. The forum gathered more than 60 commercial pharmaceutical manufacturers, medical device distributors, and life sciences stakeholders to address the changing regulatory framework, strict product integrity standards, and multi-modal cold chain requirements governing international trade in the Asia-Pacific region.

The event focused on streamlining the international flow of temperature-sensitive medical cargo while maintaining strict compliance with cross-border safety protocols and domestic transport requirements.

Direct Regulatory Guidance from BPOM and Customs Officials

To provide shippers with direct insight into local compliance mandates, DSV featured senior representatives from Indonesia’s key regulatory bodies as keynote speakers:

  • The National Agency of Drug and Food Control (BPOM): Officials detailed the latest quality control oversight, cold-chain storage validation requirements, and product registration standards for imported pharmaceuticals.
  • KPU Bea dan Cukai Tipe C Soekarno-Hatta (Customs): Customs leadership outlined efficient tariff classification, accelerated clearance protocols for critical medical cargo, and trade facilitation mechanisms at Jakarta’s primary international aviation gateway.

The interactive sessions highlighted the critical importance of end-to-end supply chain visibility, data-logged temperature compliance, and proactive documentation to eliminate costly port-of-entry delays for high-value life sciences shipments.

Regional Executive Alignment on Life Sciences Logistics

The workshop was supported by DSV’s regional executive and technical leadership teams, including Jakob Jeppesen, CEO Air & Sea APAC; Siew Wei Ong, Senior Vice President APAC; and Eric Mathieu, Managing Director for Transport, Indonesia.

The strategy discussions were led by internal cold-chain specialists Gladys Chow, Director Regional Lead Healthcare APAC, and Jane Huang, General Manager Commercial Healthcare Hong Kong & China. The executive panel emphasized that the pharmaceutical sector requires strict operational consistency, specialized handling procedures for regulated goods, and robust risk-mitigation strategies to safeguard global trade lanes against unexpected transit disruptions.

Technical Site Ingress: Cengkareng Healthcare Facilities

Following the strategic presentations, international attendees participated in guided technical site visits to DSV’s active J1 and B12 logistics facilities in Cengkareng, situated near Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.

The facility tour provided a practical demonstration of DSV’s local healthcare infrastructure, showcasing its Good Distribution Practice (GDP) compliant storage zones, advanced climate-control automation, secure high-value containment areas, and real-time inventory tracking systems. These capabilities are designed to help regional distributors optimize their working capital while fully complying with international healthcare logistics standards.
