DSV and UNICEF have expanded their global partnership to increase support for emergency response operations, providing more in-kind air freight and enhancing access to life-saving supplies for children affected by humanitarian crises.
Now entering the second year of a three-year agreement, the expanded collaboration strengthens the humanitarian response pillar of the partnership, which also focuses on long-term supply chain development and reaching every child in need. Together, the three pillars create a robust framework for both immediate relief and sustainable support.
The enhanced agreement will see DSV, a leading transport and logistics provider, offer UNICEF additional in-kind flights during emergencies, improving the speed and reach of critical supply deliveries. The expansion comes at a time of heightened need, with escalating crises worldwide and growing pressure on humanitarian resources.
“Saving and protecting children’s lives is a collective endeavour,” said Carla Haddad Mardini, Director of Private Fundraising and Partnerships at UNICEF. “Our partnership with DSV has been instrumental in this mission, providing crucial support and resources that enable us to reach children in a timely and effective manner.”
Since the partnership began in September 2024, DSV has facilitated the delivery of over 85 tonnes of emergency supplies to seven countries. This includes UNICEF’s first airlift to Lebanon in 2024 and the transport of 30 tonnes of medical equipment and shelter materials to the Democratic Republic of the Congo in response to an mpox outbreak.
“We’re proud to support the important work that UNICEF is doing for children in need across the world,” said Jens H. Lund, Group CEO of DSV. “Our global network, operational expertise and in-kind air freight contributions enable us to overcome logistical barriers and deliver aid to even the most remote communities.”
DSV’s continued commitment to pre-established in-kind flight agreements ensures fast mobilisation in the critical early stages of an emergency. By strengthening preparedness, the partnership helps UNICEF provide equitable access to essential items such as medicines, shelter and hygiene kits within days of a crisis.
This collaboration reflects a shared vision between DSV and UNICEF—to not only meet immediate needs during emergencies, but to reinforce global supply chains that protect children’s futures long after the crisis has passed.
