Hellmann Worldwide Logistics has taken over the operational management of the global central warehouse for Siemens Smart Infrastructure in Nuremberg. The transition, effective June 1, follows a competitive tender process and marks a new phase in the two companies’ long-standing collaboration.
The Nuremberg facility serves as a key logistics hub for Siemens, handling the storage and worldwide distribution of production and commercial goods. The takeover of the site, which is located near existing Hellmann facilities, is expected to generate operational synergies, enhance personnel flexibility, and improve overall supply chain speed.
Expanding a Decade-Long Partnership
The new contract in Nuremberg extends a relationship that has existed for over 10 years. Hellmann has been managing warehouse logistics for Siemens in Bor, Czech Republic, and that contract was recently extended for another five years.
According to Sven Markert, Head of Supply Chain Logistics for Siemens Smart Infrastructure, the move is a logical step to expand the companies’ joint logistics capabilities. The Nuremberg site is certified for secure air freight handling, further strengthening the partnership’s focus on quality-oriented logistics services.
