The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA) has hailed the success of its Executive Summit 2025, held in Hong Kong from 24–26 June. Hosted by Cathay Cargo, the three-day summit welcomed over 280 senior executives from across the global air cargo ecosystem.
Participants engaged in strategic discussions addressing the most urgent challenges and opportunities shaping the industry, including AI integration, sustainability, regulatory alignment, airport development, e-commerce, and geopolitical disruptions. The event furthered TIACA’s mission to foster cross-industry collaboration and connect established leaders with the next generation of innovators.
Opening and agenda highlights
The summit opened with remarks from Ms. Mable Chan, JP, Secretary for Transport and Logistics of the Hong Kong SAR Government, who underscored the significance of transport and logistics to the city’s economy. A full conference agenda followed, featuring panel discussions and keynotes on topics ranging from air cargo security to infrastructure investment and digital transformation.
Exclusive tours and networking
Delegates began the programme with a behind-the-scenes tour of the Cathay Cargo Terminal, followed by a welcome reception hosted by HACTL. A series of networking events sponsored by Cathay Cargo offered attendees the chance to build relationships in a relaxed, collaborative environment.
Industry recognition and white paper launch
The summit also hosted the 2025 TIACA Awards, which honoured excellence in multiple categories, including Hall of Fame, Inspirational Leader, Rising Star, and Sustainability. In addition, TIACA previewed its new e-Commerce White Paper, developed by a task force of industry experts. The paper is expected to be published in the coming weeks.
Industry voices
“The Executive Summit has become a unique space for real dialogue and actionable progress,” said Steven Polmans, Chair of TIACA. “By bringing together so many global voices in Hong Kong—one of the world’s most critical cargo hubs—we’ve not only sparked important ideas, but also strengthened the bonds across our industry.”
Glyn Hughes, Director General of TIACA, added, “The energy at this year’s summit reflects the optimism and innovation driving our industry forward. From digital breakthroughs to sustainability strategies, this was a gathering of momentum, and Hong Kong proved to be the perfect location.”
Looking ahead
Insights from the Executive Summit and TIACA’s annual industry survey will directly inform the association’s future work plan and advocacy efforts. TIACA’s next major global event, the Air Cargo Forum, is scheduled to take place in Abu Dhabi from 3–6 November 2025. Exhibit space is now open, and interested organisations are invited to contact the TIACA Secretariat.
