WFS 3-Year Handling Contract Air China Cargo Liège

Worldwide Flight Services (WFS), part of the SATS Group, has renewed its partnership with Air China Cargo through a new three-year contract at Liège Airport. The extension reflects WFS’s proven capabilities in handling high volumes of cross-border e-commerce alongside general cargo, as demand between Belgium and China continues to grow.

Under the new agreement, WFS will continue to provide ramp and warehouse handling for weekly Boeing 777 and Airbus A330 freighter services from Chengdu, Hangzhou, and Shanghai. These flights deliver robust e-commerce volumes inbound to Europe, while supporting strong export flows of general cargo from Belgium to China.

WFS and Air China Cargo have played a key role in driving growth at Liège Airport, which recorded a 16% year-on-year increase in 2024 and a further 6.2% rise in cargo flights in Q1 2025. Air China Cargo is handled at WFS’s 12,000 sqm cargo facility in Liège.

“Air China Cargo is a major customer of WFS across our international network,” said Marc Claesen, Senior Vice President Commercial EMEAA at WFS. “This new contract extension reflects our strong partnership in Liège, where we’ve made significant investments in e-commerce handling tailored to their needs. We thank Air China Cargo for their continued trust.”
