Emirates SkyCargo Freighter Capacity India Additional Services

Emirates SkyCargo is expanding its freighter operations to India with the deployment of two additional weekly cargo services, increasing capacity to support growing trade demand across the region.

The new services include one additional freighter flight to Mumbai and one to Ahmedabad, strengthening the airline’s cargo network between India and key global markets.

Strengthening Cargo Connectivity

The additional Mumbai service, which launched on 4 March 2026, connects Dubai, Singapore and Mumbai, while the Ahmedabad service operates as a dedicated direct freighter. The airline expects the routes to carry a range of commodities, including pharmaceuticals, fresh produce, perishables and consumer electronics.

Emirates SkyCargo currently operates three weekly freighter flights to India – one to Mumbai and two to Ahmedabad – alongside bellyhold capacity across 167 passenger flights serving nine Indian gateways.

In addition, the airline plans to introduce a dedicated weekly freighter service to Dhaka, Bangladesh, from April 2026 as part of its wider network expansion across South Asia.

Supporting Growing Trade Corridors

India remains a major market for Emirates SkyCargo, particularly in sectors such as pharmaceuticals, perishables, textiles and e-commerce goods. The airline currently moves significant volumes of these commodities between India and international markets each week.

The carrier has also developed an extensive domestic trucking network to support cargo movements across India. In 2025, more than 1,000 trucking movements handled approximately 5,500 tonnes of cargo, linking inland production centres with the airline’s international network.

Recent additions to the road network include Coimbatore and Goa, expanding access for exporters in key manufacturing and industrial regions.

Longstanding Presence in India

Emirates SkyCargo began operations in India in 1985 with services to Mumbai and Delhi. The airline now serves nine destinations across the country: Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Thiruvananthapuram.

The additional freighter capacity reflects continued growth in trade between India and the United Arab Emirates and strengthens Emirates SkyCargo’s role in connecting Indian businesses with global markets.
