American Airlines Cargo has enhanced its ExpediteTC° cold-chain solution, which is designed for the transportation of temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals and life sciences shipments. The company has introduced expanded 24/7 live tracking and online booking for passive shipments to meet growing global demand.
Enhanced Monitoring and Digital Capabilities
The company has extended its 24/7 live tracking and monitoring to include shipments in active temperature-controlled units. This expansion provides continuous oversight for sensitive cargo. The ExpediteTC° control tower can now proactively intervene during irregular flight operations to ensure that delivery commitments are met. In addition, the company introduced online booking for passive shipments on July 1, 2025, to provide customers with a self-service option and enhance the overall experience.
Specialized Facilities and Global Network
American Airlines Cargo’s flagship life sciences-handling facility at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) is a key asset in its network. The purpose-built, CEIV-certified facility is equipped with specialized temperature-controlled environments for various cargo needs, from controlled room temperature to deep-frozen. The facility also features an Active Container Management area with charging stations and backup power.
Beyond PHL, the airline extends its capabilities to other certified hubs, including Miami (MIA), San Juan (SJU), Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW), and New York (JFK), reinforcing its commitment to safe and reliable life sciences transportation. The company’s network of more than 150 cities across 46 countries includes 30 strategically located CEIV or GDP-certified stations to support global life sciences shipments.
